We recommend these rods for fishing large live & cut baits like Mullet and Lady Fish. These composite blank rods feature an S-Glass tip, soft enough tip for hurling lighter live baits like Pass Crabs and Threadfins. We recommend pairing these rods with a premium spinning reel in the 8000 – 20000 size, spooled with 50lb – 80lb braid.

TARPON SWIMBAIT RODS: For anglers primarily throwing lures and jigs, the Tarpon Swimbait Rod features an extra fast action and quick tip recovery, excellent for working large plugs, jigs, swimbaits, and lightly weighted soft baits. Commonly built in 7′ – 8′ lengths, these rods are best paired with slightly smaller reels in the 6000 – 10000 size class spooled with 30lb – 65lb braid. The Tarpon Swimbait Rod covers a variety of lure weights from 1/2oz – 3oz, also making it an ideal choice for pitching crabs and threadfin.
