My Sewell rod is awesome. I've landed one nice Tarpon in the 100-125# range along with a few other juveniles. Having a specific rod for this type of fishing is a game changer! Although a bit heavy with my Shimano Stella 6000FA, I am using it to jig for Snook with a 3/8 & 1/2 oz jig head...effectively! I am 100% satisfied with my new battle stick. I look forward to our next build, which I am already planning for Snook jigging. Sean A. - Cape Coral, FL

Had a great offshore trip with Craig Manns. Landed my first ever big permit. I wouldn't have got the powerhouse of a permit past the jewfish and bull sharks that were eating nearly every hooked fish if I didn't have a powerhouse of a rod. Thanks Sewell Rods for the set up. Sewell Rods Offshore Permit

A very BIG thank you to Matt Sewell for building me an astounding rod. At first I was very uncertain on the direction I needed to go. After a couple phone calls I left it up to Matt on the blank and design. He delivered a 6'0 powerhouse! It's got a ton of leverage and this lil 60lb goliath got whooped instantly with the aid of a Avet TRX 30w. Without a doubt I will own more Sewell rods in the future. This rod made the captain and first mate believers in this setup. Thanks Matt for your great customer service and one wicked rod! Justin U. - Siesta Key, FL

I don't know how many of you ever owned or rode in an old Volkswagen Beetle, but if you were to step out of one and climb right into a Mercedes Benz, that's what it was like for me Saturday when I put down my old Team Daiwa spinning rod that I have been using for the last ten years and picked up this beautiful custom built rod by Sewell Custom Rods. It's one of the rods that Matt Sewell gave to Louie a couple of weeks ago and he and I worked out a little trade . This one is the smallest (7' and rated for 8-17# test) and just perfect for bass fishing. I'm still not quite sure just how I managed to talk him out of it, but it's mine now. Thanks Matt and Louie.
